Nation Under The Soul Shack was born during NYC's hot summer months
in 2006 when Pamela & Detrel were comparing their calendar of
planned outdoor music events. Together, they felt they could provide
opportunities for some of the dazzling independent artists that seemed
to be emerging from the core of NY's apple! They weren't mistaken!
To their credit, they've hosted four successful listening parties
at Vanel's (East Village)!

up in a household where it was as common as taking a breath,
Detrel Howell was exposed from as early as she can remember
to the music of artists such as The Carpenters, Santana, Mandrill,
Patti Labelle and so many others. From these experiences, she acquired
